postmortemdemon was birthed from the underbelly of emotion.

Its creator Sid Diamond (aka SD) aims to orchestrate a sound that encompasses the extreme sensation of existence. As a transgender artist, SD undergoes constant change, both physical and internal. The experience of transition can be intense - postmortemdemon aims to illuminate the dark beauty of transgender life. Noisy synths, hypnotic rhythms, and emotional vocals alongside jazzy progressions and wonky saxophone solos paint a multi-genre sound that mirrors SD’s complicated nature.

His debut album Transformations was initially meant to be a performance piece that utilized large steel sound sculptures created by SD themself. Unfortunately, they, along with us all, were forced into isolation. The theme of change began to take new meanings as SD was pushed to come to terms with reality. Descent, Rewind, and Slump were all recorded in their mother’s apartment, alone while Nightmare, Drawing Circles, and Drown were all recorded early into his medical transition while SD was still in college. Written, performed, and produced all by one person, this album acts as similar to a diary; entries that take the reader/listener into a non-linear story of personal experience. SD is asking you to dive deep and search within yourself to accept the change that is meant to be.
